Architectural designer Charlie Luxton gives families a unique opportunity: to try out alternative layouts for their homes, and see how different decoration schemes would look, before laying a brick.

Charlie is on hand with tips on what decoration and layout schemes work best for each family’s lifestyle and house type. Every episode is packed with property inspirations as each family are invited to see inside the most impressive houses in their area for ideas as well as have a nose inside their neighbour’s homes. And as the build progresses and unforeseen dramas unfold, Charlie inspects progress, and catches up on their budget.

But will the family take Charlie’s advice and spend their money wisely? Will the build go to plan and stay on schedule and on budget? Will local estate agents award their new home the highest value on the street? And most important of all, will the family be happy with the end result and feel they’ve made their house the the Best on the street?
